The Hamburg Port Authority (HPA) is responsible for the water and land-side infrastructure of the Port of Hamburg as well as for the safety and efficiency of the Hanseatic city’s harbour. The HPA is responsible for the realisation of its construction projects and property management. At the same time, the HPA aims to make greater use of digital tools such as monitoring, AI or the use of as-built models of structures in order to obtain information about the port infrastructure and make it quickly accessible at all times.
In the BIMKIT research project, the as-built modelling of buildings and infrastructure structures is to be researched using AI to generate digital twins.
The results of the project would represent considerable added value for maintenance management and the HPA’s future research activities in this area. The HPA is therefore in favour of approving the project and assures that it will contribute its experience in the field of as-built surveys and building inspections, as well as making data from its existing infrastructure available for research purposes on request.

mixadata has extensive BIM implementation expertise and developed Continuous Data Management as a precursor to BIM back in 1996. Omnystate (formerly Immotech) is a company that specialises in surveying and digitisation services as well as software solutions for buildings. The services include laser scans, drone flights, thermographic images, Matterport tours and expert analyses by certified experts. Omnystate also offers architectural services that include the creation of floor plans, elevations and sections in 2D as well as BIM models.

Via a real-time interface, 3D elements calculated from the point cloud are transferred to CAD. The model creation and generation of the BIM model takes place continuously on the CAD side without any conversion losses.
